OTV | Open Television is a non-profit platform for intersectional television. We incubate, distribute, and exhibit artists that commercial television networks and art institutions do not develop consistently: artists who identify with multiple identities marginalized by the market and society. OTV experiments with alternative ways to develop, produce, and exhibit art and television. Our programs center artistic expression, intersectionality, Chicago and digital networking.
The CATCH DESIRE VISUAL EP is written and performed by Chicago-based OBGYN and rapper, Dr. Every Woman (aka Wendy Mcdonald), as well as appearances by local influencers, such as recording artist and model Syren, advocate and actor Damon Williams, choreographer and stylist Darling Shear, and dancers Melody Flynn and Melissa Koops.
The CATCH DESIRE EP features three original songs written and recorded by Dr. Everywoman. Each song aims to uplift the narratives and experiences of sexually liberated black women while also promoting the value of PrEP through witty remakes of all-time-favorites Computer Love by Zapp, Shoop by Salt-N-Peppa and Anaconda by Nicki Minaj.
