Questions
March 1st New Releases • 7m 28s
A short experimental poetry film about trauma, healing and self-actualisation, narrated by a woman telling and owning her past and present experiences. The film is set at a diary session at a therapist’s couch, where we see Zethu talking to her therapist and a field where Zethu performs in poetry and movement. Our sequences are non-chronological, revealing the diary session at the therapists couch, titles with poetry and scenes at a field with Zethu. In essence, this project is concerned with how black women remember traumas they've experienced, divorced from restoring the imagery of trauma and violence in imagery replay. The film is an adaptation of the poem series titled: Questions.
