OTV | Open Television is a non-profit platform for intersectional television. We incubate, distribute, and exhibit artists that commercial television networks and art institutions do not develop consistently: artists who identify with multiple identities marginalized by the market and society. OTV experiments with alternative ways to develop, produce, and exhibit art and television. Our programs center artistic expression, intersectionality, Chicago and digital networking.
OTV Retrospective is a reflection on the past five years of the organization’s journey. Co-founders Dr. Aymar Jean Christian and Elijah McKinnon take viewers on a cinematic tour of its humble beginnings as a research project answering the simple question “do intersectional stories matter?”
Black Girl Magic is a monthly drag show starring a lineup of all black performers. Queens pay tribute to important black women with a diverse showcase that captures the breadth of talents and creativity within black drag community. Tune in LIVE with The Vixen.
