Theme at Large: Unlearning:
The future of tech won’t be built by clinging to outdated rules. At Mozilla Festival 2025, we’re unlearning the defaults—the systems, habits, and assumptions that no longer serve us. This isn’t just about critique; it’s about reimagining what's possible by questioning who benefits from current technologies and redefining what privacy, power, and access mean in a world shaped by digital innovation. Unlearning opens space for new ideas—bold, actionable alternatives that we can build together.
As part of this exploration, Open Television (OTV) has identified two prompts for artists to respond to, each rooted in the act of unlearning:
Cultivating a Protopia: Imagining and creating a future where technology serves the collective good, not just the privileged few.
Reimagining A.I. as Ancestral Intelligence: Rethinking A.I. not as a cold, detached entity, but as a reflection of the interconnected wisdom of cultures and communities.
